Original publishers green cloth with circular gilt-stamped designs (three per cover) by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. The cover design for the first edition and subsequent new editions was one of only a few that Rossetti allowed for cover designs on books. Very good copy with usual wear to covers, and edges. Contemporary inscription in an unknown hand on front free fly: "Seems to feel that LIberty is like Love-- bitter in the stomach."
