Original light blue cloth (beveled boards) with superb full gilt embossed illustrated cover and spine, original dark blue-green enpapers, all edges gilt. Millais' classic illustrated book for children containing some of the most endearing woodcut illustrations for children he ever rendered, featuring full-page wood engravings throughout, as well as smaller vignette drawings. This is the nicest copy we have ever seen of this book, which usually appears worn, or heavily faded, with pages loosened. Our copy is fine with very slight wear to extremities of spine, which is evenly toned.
