First edition. Two Volumes (1830, 1834). Superbly bound by A.C. McClurg Bindery, circa 1870, an early and attractive McClurg binding, matched on both volumes, with extremely ornate dot pattern on both covers, encompasing a floral design at all four corners, and further intricated stippling design motifs on spine, dentelles with additional gilt designs, marbled matching. doublures and endsheets. This is the very scarce first edition, one of the few copiew which were printed on heavier paper, uncut, and with brilliant impressions of the metalic plates. 128 exquisite engravings by Finden and others, from drawings by Turner and Stothard. A wonderful matched first edition in very good to near fine condition, tight and well-preserved.
