Bound by Riviere in full reddish brown morocco, gilt lettering to spine, elaborately gilt dentelles. Approx. 6 x 9 inches. [The Caxton Club Scrap-Book] contained fragments of English verse from the thirteenth to the seventeenth centuries that were chosen and collocated by Caxtonian John Vance Cheney. While the collection contained a few complete poems, the 'scraps' of verse contained, according to President Merryweather, ëa few lines of description, a metaphor, a fancy, whatever in itself has poetic valueíì (Piehl). Fading to spine, else fine.
