Superb contemporary embroidered binding, woven with braids of silver threads patterned on both covers and spine, over embroidered oink, yellow and blue flower petals, over calf boards, with gauffered edges. Binding worn and reapplied to boards, but original and contemporary early 1600's. The Psalter or Psalmes of David... 1615, 200+ pages, unnumbered, lacking I1 [ESTC S123458]; [bound with] The Whole Booke of Psalmes... 1628, 312pp., lacking all leaves after N12. A rare survival, indeed.
