"July 5, 1884, Dear Mrs. Hunter, It was a delightful and interesting dinner and we have been longing ever since to thank you- pray believe that we do so heartily. We are shocking bad visitors! I don't seem able to reform. Will you be so kind as to accept this accompanying little book and believe me, Sincerely yours, W. Allingham."
